The Woolsey Fire burned through parts of the Conejo Valley in 2018. On a Thousand Oaks visit the spark arrestor and the chase top come before anything inside the firebox. That is part of how we set the timeline, choose materials, and decide what to flag in the written report once the visit wraps up.
Most Thousand Oaks appointments cover step flashing and counter flashing repair, cricket installation for wide chimneys, and lead and aluminum flashing options. Before we pack up, we walk you through what we found and note anything worth addressing before the next heating season.

our home town in the Santa Clara River Valley
Santa Paula's historic downtown and the streets around it hold some of the oldest houses in Ventura County, and some chimneys here went up in the early 1900s. On a stack that old we look for a liner before anything else, then read the mortar from the crown down.

Ventura runs from historic downtown houses to newer developments in east Ventura, so one day's route can hold two very different chimneys. We sort out which kind you have on the phone, then bring the right gear for that era.

Oxnard is the largest city in Ventura County, and its chimneys split by distance from the water as much as by age. Near the beach we ask what the cap is made of before we ask when the house was built.

Camarillo houses span several decades of building, so one block can mix a masonry firebox with a gas insert next door. We work out which system you have first, because the checks for each are not the same.
